What happens after the year of updates?
Oaka keeps working, forever. You keep every version released during your year of updates, and you can install any of them again from the version history. If you want versions released after that, renew updates for another year; it's optional.
How much is an update renewal, and when does it start?
A renewal costs half the price of a license. Your new year starts when your current one ends, so renewing early never costs you any time. If your updates have already ended, the new year starts the day you renew.
Can I use Oaka on more than one computer?
Yes: a license is for one person on up to 2 computers, for example a laptop and a desktop. Once the Windows version is out, they can be Macs, Windows PCs or one of each. Moving to a new computer? Sign out of an old one from Oaka or your account page.
How does the free trial work?
Download Oaka and start your 14-day trial when you open it. Everything works, nothing is watermarked. If you don't buy, your projects still open and preview, and buying unlocks editing and export straight away, with no reinstall.
What if Oaka isn't right for me?
Ask for a refund within 30 days of purchase and you'll get your money back, no questions asked. You can request it from your account page. After 30 days, if a technical issue stops Oaka working as advertised, contact support and we'll help.
Do I need a license key?
No. Your license belongs to the email you buy with. In Oaka, sign in with that email and the code we send you.
Does Oaka need an internet connection?
No. Once your computer is activated, Oaka works offline for as long as you like. When you're online, it mainly checks for updates, and keeps your license in sync while it's there.
Does the AI Assistant cost extra?
Not from us. The Assistant uses the AI provider you choose, with your own account, so any costs are between you and that provider. A local model through Ollama or LM Studio costs nothing. Using Oaka from Claude Desktop or Claude Code, under your own Claude plan, is planned.
Does Oaka run on Windows?
Not yet: Oaka runs on Apple Silicon Macs (M1 and later) today, and the Windows version is coming soon. Your license will cover it too, so you can use Oaka on a Mac and a Windows PC. Intel Macs aren't planned.
